About the Devore Rural Protection AssociationThe D.R.P.A. was founded in 1985 by the people of Devore in response to an annexation attempt by the city of San Bernardino. These concerned citizens took a professional approach to the threat to Devore's unique rural lifestyle, and successfully defeated the proposed annexation. The group recognized the need for an ongoing association that would work for the good of the community. They felt that being organized, creditable, and respected would be important in dealing with whatever the future held for the community of Devore. Over the years, the founders' vision has proved correct. The D.R.P.A. again fought off annexation by San Bernardino in 1990, and has continued to keep Devore's residents informed about local politics, proposed developments, emergency preparedness, and other important issues. DRPA is now a California NonProfit 501(c)(3) Corporation. Donations are tax deductible.
Statement of Purpose of the Devore Rural Protection AssociationThe Devore Rural Protection Association was formed with a commitment to bring forth the consensus of the community.
